Sweet Winnie has had a very rough start to her life. She came to Blue Dog Rescue a few months ago with two broken back legs. We aren't sure what happened, but her legs were shattered. After several surgeries and a lot of rehab, Winnie is finally ready to find her forever home. Her legs are fully healed and she is back to her playful self. She has obviously experienced some real trauma in her life and as a result, she is very fearful of new people. It is usually short lived with women but she has a difficult time trusting men. Winnie needs an experienced dog person to help her continue to overcome her fear of new people. She currently lives with a family of 4 humans, 4 dogs and a cat. She is so sweet to the humans that she trusts and hanging with the other dogs gives her confidence. She loves to snuggle and loves to play fetch. Her perfect home would be one with at least one other playful dog and at least one very devoted person who is willing to work consistently with Winnie to help her build confidence and lovingly teach her that there are good people in the World. Older, dog savvy children are okay but no young children please. Winnie won't be more than 30 pounds. If you are interested in meeting Winnie, please submit an application.
